Sustainable Florida-Collins Center has announced the finalists in the 2010 Best Practice Awards program, a list that includes the joint University of Florida-Florida A&M University statewide team that helps small farms become more productive.
Tri-Eagle Sales, Budweiser support USO care program
Local distributor Tri-Eagle Sales and Budweiser are participating in a partnership with the United Services Organization to honor the nation's Armed Forces through the "Proud to Serve Those Who Serve" program. Budweiser and its wholesalers nationwide will donate 1 cent for every case equivalent of Budweiser sold through June 30 to the USO's Operation Enduring Care, which was created to meet the recovery needs of wounded service members. The total donation committed is $250,000, which will help fund development of care centers.

Unemployment rate improves for Tallahassee, state
The Tallahassee metro area had an April unemployment rate of 7.9 percent, down from 8.7 percent the month before, according to statistics released Friday by Florida's Agency for Workforce Innovation.
