TalTech August Luncheon - Technology for People with Disabilities

Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology (FAAST) will present the latest Assistive Technology Devices.

As part of its ongoing effort to raise awareness among diverse groups about the availability and benefits of assistive technology for individuals with disabilities, the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology offers device demonstrations and training.

Andre Howard, coordinator of FAAST’s Northwest Regional Demonstration Center, will showcase a variety of devices and software applications to make personal computers accessible to individual with vision, speech, hearing and mobility needs. Mr. Howard’s presentation will feature Access2Go, FAAST's new portable computer access technology. Over 30 applications have been available through the convenience of a flash drive, with no software to install. Access2Go provides a user-friendly and affordable way to adapt computers in computer labs, classrooms and workplaces. The presentation will provide instruction on launching Access2Go, identifying the appropriate programs for a range of user needs including vision, learning, text-to-speech and alternative access; and customizing individual user settings within the applications.
