Tallahassee Community College has officially opened its Advanced Manufacturing Training Center (AMTC).  The AMTC is a part of TCC’s Center for Workforce Development, a division of the College that offers customized courses and services to enhance employees’ careers, programs to improve business effectiveness and support for returning adult learners. In addition to manufacturing, targeted workforce training is offered in other fields including information technology, allied health and business, as well as construction and trades.

Our program will begin with a welcome and overview of the facility by Program Manager, Bruce Batton; after which a panel of manufacturing industry representatives will explain the industry's direction and current technology needs.

Presenter Name Bruce Batton
Presenter Bio

Program Manager for the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center at Tallahassee Community College.

Bruce Batton’s professional experience began with a twenty-three year career in U.S. Marine Corps aviation. There he spent ten years in direct aircraft maintenance, component manufacturing and production supervision, and thirteen years as an aircraft maintenance officer for production division management, quality assurance management and director’s assignment at wing level.

Following his military career, Bruce worked in Operations, Manufacturing and Program management in government contracting industries. He managed multiple (up to five) production sites concurrently with annual operating budgets exceeding $24 million; managed the program of unmanned surface vehicle development and manufacturing; planned & directed renovation of 52,000 sqft manufacturing facility - upgrading the building’s infrastructure, modernizing appearance and increasing available manufacturing footprint by 6,200 sqft while initiating self-directed work teams.

Bruce is a Florida native from Green Cove Springs and attended Clay County High School. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering Technologies from the University of Memphis and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University. He currently resides in Tallahassee with wife, Patty, and three sons.
