College of Communication and Information at FSU Career Day
The College of Communication and Information at Florida State University is inviting you to participate at our annual career day Monday, April 5, 2010 from 1:00-4:00pm. This is a unique opportunity to meet undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Communication and Information whom are interested in an internship or employment.
We have invited you in the past and we have had many of our students currently employed or interning with you. In our past Career Day (Last Fall), we had 27 companies participate and 297 students attend. 50+ students ended up interning and some later being employed with the same company; in addition, 14 received job offers.

On July 1, 2009 the Colleges of Communication, Library and Information Studies, and Communication Science and Disorders merged. The success of these three programs have been brought together to further enhance the existing programs, provide innovative teachings, and expand the skill sets of students. With a constantly changing technological world, the merger of
the schools provides employers with students skilled in traditional disciplines of communication, information, and technology, as well as providing students a combination of these skills. You will find students with both the communication and the technical skills at Career Day.
I am hoping that you or a representative will come out on the afternoon of Monday, April 5th from 1-4pm and be part of this great event. Employers can set up after 11:30am and will be hosted at a luncheon from 12-1pm. Students will arrive after 1pm. The open session will run until 3:30pm.
The benefits to you are enormous, ranging from potential employees or interns, advertising and publicity. We will profile your company on the College’s website, as well as follow-up newsletters. We will also be marketing your company’s participation through the University Career Center publications and website. This is an opportunity to educate students about opportunities and seek potential candidates for current and future job. As well as a prime time to meet potential interns for the summer!
Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to talk more about this opportunity. If possible, please respond to me with your decision by Monday, March 8th with the contact person coordinating your career day appearance and their email and phone number. Upon receipt of your decision, more information will be sent out. I hope you are as enthusiastic about this event as our faculty and students are. We are confident you will be impressed with our students’ motivation and interests.
