Through exemplary teaching and implementation of instructional technology in K-12 classrooms, the Florida State University School has been recognized by SMART Technologies, one of the leading manufacturers of instructional technology tools, as a demonstration site for how SMART products and services can improve teaching and learning.
In the fall of 2009, a massive instructional technology initiative was implemented by the FSUS administration. By the end of the 2009-2010 academic year, over 80 classrooms were transformed into “Intelligent Classrooms,” utilizing SMART Interactive white boards, classroom response systems, wireless slates, and audio enhancement systems. It is the mission of the school to continually engage and motivate students through the use of relevant tools and technology experiences. The school is constantly researching the latest innovations in instructional technology in order to prepare students for success in the information society.This international recognition will allow The Florida State University School to serve as a demonstration site for new products and a model for schools seeking to advance student success through instructional technology innovations.SMART Showcase Schools recognize the benefits of using SMART products and services to create an engaging 21st-century learning environment and are excited about sharing their results with the education community.
