TalTech Alliance Hosts Regional Technology Partnership Forum
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – On Wednesday, January 21, the TalTech Alliance will host a lunch meeting with other regional technology related groups, including iTen Wired and the Technology Coast Manufacturing & Engineering Network (TeCMEN). The topic will be ‘Regional Partnerships along Northwest Florida’s I-10 Corridor’ and will include speakers to discuss what each group is doing to engage their membership and further the mission of their organization. Economic experts have predicted that 2009 will be another tough year, and strategic partnerships can play a vital role in weathering the downturn. Florida’s Great Northwest (FGNW) will share their analysis and latest strategies for the IT sector, which FGNW identified along with engineering as a critical support industry for all high-wage job growth across the region. TalTech Alliance will share the latest developments of TechExpo 2.0, scheduled for March 10 at Tallahassee Community College. And ITFlorida will provide an overview of the industry climate across the State of Florida, including the role of State Government.
“The budget crunch in Florida is affecting firms with state contracts, so client diversification becomes more important in such a climate. Now can be a time for nimble firms to take advantage of tightening budgets and pitch their ability to create efficiencies and reduce costs.” said Doster. Shannon Ogletree from TEAM Santa Rosa and a member of iTen Wired will discuss their bi-annual Summit and a membership that has expanded into Alabama. Jeff Fanto, chairman of TeCMEN, also has seen that trend, “Just in recent months we have found our network expanding into Alabama, as the I-10 corridor presents great opportunities for collaboration regardless of boundaries on a map.”
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Challenger Center in Kleman Plaza, located in downtown Tallahassee, and is open to the public with pre-registration requested. Those interested may register online at www.taltech.org or by contacting Sharyn Kerwin at (850) 322-2436 or info@taltech.org. Admission is free for TalTech members. Non-members may purchase a TalTech membership at the door or pay a $20 guest fee. Refreshments will be provided.
The TalTech Alliance is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit alliance of businesses, academic centers, entrepreneurs and individuals invested in promoting technology-based entrepreneurship, business expansion and innovation in the capital region.
